Once upon a time..

About

Hello there, welcome to my personal website and blog!

My name is Thomas and I’m 35 years old. I live in central Copenhagen, Denmark and work with marketing, communication, product development and public relations. In my spare time I use extreme methods such as liquid or compressor units to cool my computer, and occasionally run benchmarks at very high speeds using exotic refrigerants such as dry ice and liquid nitrogen.

At age 5 I got my first computer, and have used computers and tech accessories since then. Having bewildered into coding on Amiga 500, I picked up on overclocking around 1990 when I read a few articles about how to get higher frame rates in games and increases the general 2D computing power. What really got me started on this competitive yet friendly level of overclocking in late 1998 came when Futuremark launched their 3DMark (99) benchmarking software – and me and my friends in the hardware sites in Denmark began to compare our benchmarks and 3D performance.

It was roughly the same period, in early 2000 when I made the switch from air cooling to liquid cooling on my computers. It was not until about 5 years later that I got my first compressor cooled system. Much too noisy for everyday use. While I spent an enormous amount of time on gaming, but was that way even more interested in tweaks and optimization, and tried even a few benchmarks with dry ice.
